Edgedale Road, Sheffield; Strip and Recover.
This roof on has fabulous welsh slates from Bethesda which are around 100 years old and still in good condition, so it was decided to strip the roof and re-use what we could. As always, the new roof conforms to the important new standard of BS5534 which is designed to help protect clients and contractors from poor standards of work. This was a pleasure to re-slate because as a company from the quarrying town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, we fully appreciate the true value of these brilliant slates.
Our work included – Full insulation to meet building regulations with certification from Sheffield Counci – New lead valleys and chimney flashings – Re-point and cap chimneys – Reclaimed slate on front dormer to make up shortfall in slate – Re-sit ridge tiles – New Velux skylight
